In the event of an extreme emergency, or if you believe your baby or child is in immediate danger, please call 911, or, if you can do so safely, take your child to Children’s Hospital Emergency Room. In the event of a disaster or recommended evacuation, or if communications with our physicians are compromised, Children’s Hospital is the most reliable resource to help with emergency care for your child.

We are always “on call” for emergencies. If you need to talk to a doctor when the office is closed (before 8:30 A.M. and after 5:00 P.M.), please use the after hours emergency link below to send us an urgent request. Our doctor on call will call you back, usually within 60 minutes. If your call is an emergency, please make that clear in your message so that we can return your call as soon as possible. You will be prompted to leave a pharmacy phone number, in case it is needed.

You may also call 504-910-1770.  This system will send you a link to your mobile phone where you can complete an online request form. When using a land line you may stay on the line to leave a voice message.

Ingestions/Poisonings: If your child ingests something we encourage you to immediately call the Poison Control Hotline at 1-800-222-1222. The Poison Control Center maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive database to help manage ingestions of medicines or other substances. We are available to help if needed, but the Poison Control Center experts are your primary resource.
